Meet Prime Properties Agent Debi Summersett

Raised in an Air Force family, Debi Summersett pursued a career in IT before finding the real estate industry. Debi attended the DeVry Institute of Technology in Irving Texas in the early ’80s. What followed was a long career in IT that took her all over Texas and Southeast United States. She worked in a largely male-dominated field for many organizations, supporting equipment for large clients like Exxon, Nalco, NASA, US Steel and SWBell.

Her last job before making the transition to real estate was a technical position in the title industry with Houston’s Stewart Title/Landata. Real estate was a natural progression from there!

Debi Summersett has now been a licensed realtor for 20 years, mostly working with two of Prime Properties’ co-founders, Mike Harness and Sherry Miles. She joined them at Prime Properties in 2012 and hasn’t looked back. Debi finds real estate both exciting and satisfying, with a more flexible schedule than she had in IT.

“I love meeting so many wonderful people,” she says. “I enjoy working with clients during both the buying and selling process. Helping buyers find just the right home is always a joy, and the closing always a celebration.”

Prime Properties Co-Owner and Broker Stephanie Nelson speaks highly of Debi. “She was the first agent to come with us to Prime Properties when we opened the company,” she says. “She’s a hard worker and is loyal and dedicated. Debi is highly ethical and does an outstanding job educating her clients on the market. We are proud to have her as part of our Prime Properties family.”

Giving back is a priority for Debi. She contributes to local community charities, as well as Little Treasure Orphanage in Pakistan and Lev Lalev (meaning “heart to heart”), an all-girls orphanage in Israel.

Debi has lived in the Fort Bend area since 1985, currently residing in the Lakes of Bella Terra. She loves this area, its growth and the people who call it home.

Debi is passionate about hiking, drive-through wildlife parks and spelunking. Her impressive resume of outdoor accomplishes include rafting into the Grand Canyon and then hiking back out to the rim – seven hours uphill(!) – and climbing Dunn’s River Falls in Jamaica.

During COVID, she has been focusing on tamer activities a little closer to home, like baking, gardening and bird watching.

If you are buying or selling a home in Fort Bend, Debi would love to hear from you. Her tagline is “Don’t make a move without me!” You can contact her directly at 713-576-9453 or via email.
