Texas Has More Jobs Than Last Year

A recent article by Bryan Pope of the Texas A&M University Real Estate Center, stated that all Texas industries and the state’s government sector had more jobs in February 2013 than the same time in 2012 during a Monthly Review of the Texas Economy. Leader industries included construction, mining, logging, leisure and hospitality, then professional and business services and trade.

From February 2012 to February 2013, the article stated that Texas gained 355,600 non-agricultural jobs, an annual growth rate of 3.3 percent compared to 1.5 percent for the United States. The Texas private sector added 336,800 jobs, which equated to an annual growth rate of 3.8 percent compared to 1.9 percent for the nation.

Specifically with Sugar Land, Texas, our city ranked just behind Odessa and Midland in job creation along with Houston and Baytown, then followed by Fort Worth-Arlington and Corpus Christi.
