2011 Sugar Land Awards & Recognitions

The following are awards and recognitions given to the city of Sugar Land, Texas during the 2011 calendar year and contributing to real estate growth in the area:

Sugar Land was named the 21st safest city in America. The national ranking is included in CQ Press’ City Crime Rankings 2011-2012.

The International City/County Management Association (ICMA) presented Sugar Land with the 2011 Community Sustainability Award for the City’s multi-cultural outreach and education efforts.

Three years after being named the nation’s first “Community of Respect,” the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) again recognized Sugar Land for its ongoing commitment to foster an inclusive and respectful community.

On January 18th, the City of Sugar Land received a Parks and Natural Areas award from the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) in the Planning Category for the Gannoway Park Master Plan. The Parks and Natural Area awards are given annually by H-GAC’s Natural Resources Committee and the Parks and Natural Areas subcommittee.
