Embracing Color In Your Home

Embracing Color in Your Home

One sure way to inject life into a home is by way of color. While color could be the answer to setting your home apart from the often ordinary and mundane cookie-cutter aesthetic, it could also be an intimidating trend for many to fully embrace. The object to making color work is balance. To achieve a well-balanced interior, determine the feeling you want your home to evoke. For instance, consider earth tones to give your home sense of warmth, jewel tones for a push of sophistication, bright bold colors for a more eccentric vibe, or pastels for a soft yet, charismatic interior.

Once you have selected a color that is most reflective of the style you want to achieve, opt for a single color you want to standout. Be careful though, too much of a good thing can be an overkill. Keep your standout color to areas with the most coverage such as walls and cabinets. Tone down your predominate color with complementary accent tones and/or patterns. If you’re looking the right accents to pair with your base color, a quick Google-search of the color wheel or home interior apps may do the trick.

For those not quite as adventurous with bold color, you don’t have to paint an entire room. Bring in one boldly colored accessory, fabric, or rug. It’s often an easier way to incorporate color without going over the top or without making a costly mistake.
