City Sugar Land Has Officially Annexed Greenwood and New Territory.
The city of Sugar Land has officially annexed the communities of Greenwood and New Territory. The annexation, which has been 10 years in the making, increases Sugar Land’s population to 117,869 residents.
Strategic partnership agreements between the city and municipal utility districts enabled the annexation to move forward with no financial impact to old or new residents. According to the city of Sugar Land, the costs of services to current city residents will remain the same and services to the annexed areas will be funded with money set aside during the last 10 years specifically for this purpose.
